And the world sat silent
as the moon cracked,
and the sun cried tears,
of molten black,
that fell to earth,
like unsalted tears,
that fell before,
for many years,
the world began burning,
but our souls survived,
and wandered long,
to settle and thrive,
no home was found,
within the burn,
so our souls wandered further,
and didn't return,
so still they wander,
in linear space,
for future lives,
to witness their trace,
the further from home,
they believe they are,
the brighter they glow,
and gave us our stars.
When you look to the heavens,
past souls you will see,
and when we too burn,
Stars we shall be.
